Let’s Find a Corner: An Exercise in Composition with Paul Burmeister

This workshop will help you explore a compositional strategy for building paintings and drawings from the middle outward. If you are interested in exercising your “design muscle,” for handling landscape views from observation or source sketches or photographs, we will practice together a way of setting things up in your format. Experience something that’s organic and geometric and conscious and intuitive, all at once! Landscape artist Paul Burmeister will work with you in our studio to create an example. Most supplies are included, students are encouraged to bring a sketchbook and reference photographs.
