Description
The Ozaukee County Historical Society brings you the sights, smells and sounds of fall at their Autumn Farm Days fall festival on Saturday, Sep. 30th and Sunday Oct 1st at Ozaukee County Pioneer Village, 4880 County Hwy I, Saukville. Enjoy a day in the country that is fun for the whole family. Visitors can tour the village and will see historic demonstrations of blacksmithing, weaving, spinning, corn shelling and embroidery just to name a few. A fundraising rummage sale will take place both days with all proceeds to benefit the Caboose Restoration Project. Our resident blacksmith, Eugene Durban will be conducting a blacksmith class on Saturday (Pre-registration and fee required). Sunday Pancake Breakfast will be followed by music of The Heartland Howlers 1:00-3:00, sponsored by Big Joe’s Gas and Convenience.
The focus will be on rural farming history and includes antique tractors, engines, farm facts trivia and century farm family history. Children can participate in "Ride My First Tractor" and in various craft activities. Everyone can take part in a 15-minute wagon ride, through Hawthorne Hills Park. Pumpkins, Appleland apples, hand-made brooms and other seasonal items will be available for sale.
The smells of mulled cider, seasonal foods cooking will fill the air. Prime Minister’s homemade chicken and dumpling soup, pulled pork sandwiches, cheeseburgers and chili will be served in the Pioneer Village Hall. For dessert pumpkin pie, with Pumpkin or Apple ice cream from Cedar Crest Ice Cream will be served.
